Hello, I am from Andalusia, what are your favourite andalusian buildings? What is your opinion on the Neo-Mudéjar style of the last century?

Hi! If I had to choose, even though I know its a very common answer, I’d say the Alhambra Palace is probably my favorite. Its just the fine details in the arches and the calligraphy and the patterns and its wonderful courtyard amazes me every time I look at it

As for Neo-Mudéjar, I’m still learning more about it, but I find it fascinating. From what I understand, it was a kind of revival style from the late 19th and early 20th centuries that reinterpreted Islamic architectural elements like arches and brickwork. I love that it was a way for Spain to reconnect with its Moorish past, even as it moved into modernity. Would love to know how it’s seen locally today!

It’s like any other Styles here, magnificent but no one really looks with a tourists’ eye, like you or I do. There is a beautiful example in Córdoba, that now functions as the University’s headquarters, called the Rectorado. I suggest you Google it, very striking

Wow, I just looked up the Rectorado in Córdoba, and it’s stunning. The way the architecture carries itself, especially as part of a university, gives it this quiet strength. Appreciate the recommendation. I’ll definitely keep it in mind to write on in the future.
